Organizer of the Year!
The 2016 Wisconsin State AFL-CIO Organizing Award was awarded to the Higher Education Council, American Federation of Teachers, who organized a historic statewide “No Confidence” vote of the University of Wisconsin higher education system. The vote engaged and organized workers in the higher education system all across Wisconsin. Kim Kohlhaas, President of AFT-Wisconsin, presented the award to Chad Goldberg, UW Professor of Sociology, who accepted on the behalf of the Higher Education Council.
